While Angels Envy now has an operational distillery in Louisville, KY, the rye whiskey is purchased and contracted fromMGP distillery in Indiana, then bottled by Angel’s Envy.Originally founded by Woodford Reserve creator Lincoln Henderson, the brand is carried on today by his son Wes. The Angel’s Envy rye is bottled at 50% ABV.

Vibrant, spicy rye notes (cinnamon and mint) are tamed by rich maple syrup, graham cracker crust, nutty toffee, candy floss, subtle tropical fruit, and creamy vanilla. Warm, spicy, rummy finish. This is a mood whiskeynot one I would drink every daybut the flavors marry nicely and the sweetness tames this high-testosterone rye whiskey. Bonus points for uniqueness. *Editors’ Choice*
