Description
Third-generation master distiller Katia Espirito Santo is the producer of Avu, operating in the hills located four hours inland from Rio de Janeiro. Avu’s production involves harvesting single-estate cane from Katia’s own farm, followed by the pressing and fermentation of the cane with wild yeast. The distillation process takes place in a traditional pot still, utilizing the remnants of the cane and a waterwheel for firing. Avu pays tribute to the 1950s Rio de Janeiro jetset era characterized by Bossa nova music and the iconic Copacabana Beach.
The Passion Fruit Caipirinha concoction consists solely of natural ingredients, including Avu Prata Cachaa from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, lime juice sourced from Guangdong, China, passion fruit juice from Bukidnon, Philippines, vanilla flavor from Long An, Vietnam, cardamom extract from Oxnard, California, and lemon grass oil, also from Oxnard, California.
