Description
Jameson Single Pot Still – Five Oak Cask Release is very much one of those whiskeys that does what it says on the tin. It’s a pot still Irish whiskey, made from a grain recipe (or mash bill for our American friends) of malted and unmalted barley, which is triple distilled and then matured in five different barrel types. This includes bourbon and sherry casks, as well as three types of virgin oak, made from Irish, European, and American oak.
With an ABV of 46%, the Five Oak Cask Release offers a powerful yet smooth texture and is perfect for connoisseurs looking for a complex and balanced whiskey.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt:
Nose – Baking spice, oaken vanilla, toffee apples, dark chocolate, and honeycomb.
Palate – Rich ginger, orange peel, ripe stewed fruits, and vanilla fudge.
Finish – Long with cinnamon and more oak-rich vanilla.
The Jameson Single Pot Still Five Oak Cask Release is great for pure enjoyment to experience the depth and complexity of whiskey. It goes wonderfully with aged cheeses, grilled meats or dark chocolate. It is also an excellent choice as a base for fine cocktails such as a Whiskey Old Fashioned or Whiskey Sour to stylishly underline the complex aromas.
