The genetic mother of Tequilas Blue Weber agave, Espadn typically takes 7 12 years to mature & is the most prolific species used in mezcal. Terroir and the makers hand mean that Espadn styles vary greatly. Vago Espadn by the very modest Emigdio Jarqun was awarded Double Gold & the coveted Best Mezcal at the 2019 SFWSC and Best Mezcal in the World in the 2020 World Tequila and Mezcal Awards. Emigdios Espadn has delicious concentrated agave flavors balanced by smokiness and a spicy/saline minerality loved by critics and consumers alike.
