The Signatory Vintage Craigellachie 16 Years Old 2009 Cask Strength #205 is an impressive single cask bottling from the popular Cask Strength Collection by Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland’s most renowned independent bottlers. This single malt comes from the long-established Craigellachie Distillery in Speyside, which is known for its strong, characterful whiskies with a meaty, almost oily character – a style that combines perfectly with sweet wine cask notes.
The maturation took place entirely in a 1st fill Madeira Hogshead, which gives this limited bottling (cask number #205) a special aromatic depth and fruity sweetness. After 16 years in casks, the whisky was bottled in 2023 at natural cask strength with 55.2% vol. – naturally uncolored and not chill-filtered, which preserves the authentic, intense character of this whisky.
