St. Germain is a French liqueur made with fresh elderflowers that are hand-picked once a year in the late spring. Every bottle contains up to 1,000 blossoms, and it was the worlds first, finely crafted, all-natural elderflower liqueur. Each bottle is numbered individually to reflect the year in which the flowers were picked, a charming reminder that even the smallest and most delicate opportunities can be nurtured into something beautiful.” The floral aspect certainly takes the forefront, but it also has beautiful notes of peach, pear, and grapefruit. The delicate elderflower blossoms are macerated with warm water, and then the infusion is skillfully blended with eau-de-vie de vin, water, sugar, and neutral grain spirit. St. Germain is delicate and captivating, enjoyable on its own on the rocks, but it also makes a wonderful summer spritz with seltzer and adds a wonderful floral element to many cocktails, from a gin & tonic to a Negroni, or even what they call an elderfashioned.
