Description
Founded by visionaries Richard and Bernard d’Offay, Takamaka rum is produced at the Trois-Freres distillery, located in the Plaine Saint-Andre on the island of Mahe.
The Trois-Freres distillery, located in the Saint-Andre Plain on the island of Mahe, began producing its first rums from the Seychelles in 2002. These rums are called “Takamaka” and are named after one of the 23 districts of the island to which they belong.
It first undergoes maturation in French oak barrels, followed by a special maturation in sherry casks that had previously housed Scottish single malt whisky.
This unique heritage gives Rhum Takamaka an aromatic palette of rare elegance, where the influences of the terroir blend harmoniously with the subtlety of maturation in Palo Cortado casks.
